The students received a wonderful welcome back to school gift after the holiday break! We had a grant request for two Chromebooks fulfilled through Donors Choose. I want to thank Donors Choose donors and PCIS PTO who made donations to add these resources to our classroom. The Chromebooks were unpacked, plugged in, and being used for research within five minutes! Thank you. We created a hands-on food web in our classroom. Students learned how all food chains started in the middle with Ethan T, our sun, who can be seen holding on to many pieces of yarn! The ball of yarn was then tossed to a producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer, and so on. Then we snipped the yarn at the end of the food chain and started over. Students realized when we were finished that the food chains overlapping created a huge web. It was so large that I couldn't get it all in one photo! It was a great visual and also helped the students realize how all life is interdependent. |
