Ellie the Elf needed our help! She had been locked in the stable with Santa's reindeer. Students collaborated on challenges related to reading, science, and math to find the "magic key". Some students followed all of the clues and discovered the magic key before the hour was up. Others were saddened because they were oh, so close! Will we try the Escape Room again? Definitely!

And the learning continues. In math, students created tops to spin from connecting cubes. Then, they timed the length of their spins to the nearest thousandth. Students created visual models of the tops' times and worked on ordering decimals. We also had a lot of fun at Halloween learning stations. Students worked to problem solve during a pumpkin Three-Act math task. They saw heat transfer in action during the cupcake and flying ghost stations. We are behind on posts, but NOT behind on learning! We've been busy in class. This slideshow gives you a glimpse into some of September's science activities. Students conducted experiments to create definitions of what creates evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. Students also participated in labs to see fronts and air pressure in action. |
